“K Space Contemporary’s 2024 Members Only Exhibition: A Celebration of Artistic Diversity
Every year, K Space Contemporary showcases the incredible talent of its members. The 2024 Members Only exhibition is a dynamic group show featuring an array of artistic voices from South Texas. This year’s exhibition is a testament to the rich diversity of media, styles, and themes that our region’s artists bring to the table.
Housed in our Starr Gallery, the 2024 Members Only exhibition is a vibrant collection of works ranging from joyful explorations of life and creativity to profound reflections on personal, social, and global issues. MEMBERS ONLY is a competitive, juried exhibition selected by the K Space Exhibition Committee. This year’s top three winners will have the opportunity to feature their work in solo or small group exhibitions at K Space Contemporary in May 2026.
Award Winners:
- Best of Show (1st Place): Leandra Urrutia (ceramic sculpture)
- Winning entry: “Alto” – From her series Head in the Clouds, this captivating piece combines expressive facial features with ceramic filigree, intricate clay drawings, and accents of stone and glass beads.
- 2nd Place: Philana Pace (printmaking)
- 3rd Place: Claudia McDonald (glass)
- Honorable Mentions: Dennis Kemmerer (mixed media) and Nora Verdin (mixed media)
Running Concurrently: “Art From the Heart of K Space”
In the Clower Gallery, don’t miss Art From the Heart of K Space, a special exhibition showcasing works by K Space staff, board members, and exhibition committee members.
